(Web Desk) – Iran said the death toll from the latest US strikes has climbed to 24 after fresh attacks hit several locations across the country, with authorities continuing to assess the damage and casualties.
According to Iranian media, four more people were killed and seven others injured in strikes carried out on Monday, increasing the overall toll from the recent attacks.
Officials said two people were killed and three injured when missiles struck the city of Abadan. Emergency teams rushed to the affected areas to provide medical assistance and assess the extent of the destruction.
In the central city of Naein, one person was reported killed after a strike targeted a military installation. Local authorities have not released further details about the victim or the damage caused at the site.
Another strike reportedly hit a water pumping station in Mahshahr, where one person was killed and four others were injured. Officials said emergency crews responded immediately while engineers began inspecting the damaged facility to restore essential services.
Iranian media said the latest incidents have raised the total number of deaths from the recent US attacks to 24. Authorities warned that the figure could increase as rescue workers continue search operations in affected areas.
The attacks come amid growing military tensions between Washington and Tehran, with both sides exchanging accusations over recent developments in the region. The latest strikes have heightened fears of a wider conflict that could further destabilize the Middle East.
Iranian officials condemned the attacks, describing them as violations of the country’s sovereignty. They said the government would continue to monitor the situation and evaluate the impact of the strikes on civilian infrastructure and military facilities.
Meanwhile, Bahrain said its air defense systems intercepted and destroyed several Iranian missiles and drones that were allegedly aimed at civilian areas.
In a statement, the Bahrain Defence Force said the country’s defense systems successfully neutralized the incoming threats before they reached their targets. The military added that no significant damage or casualties were reported following the interceptions.
Bahrain accused Iran of continuing what it described as aggressive actions by launching missiles and drones toward civilian locations. The kingdom said it remains committed to protecting its territory and ensuring the safety of its citizens.
The Bahraini military said it will continue taking all necessary defensive measures against any future threats and remains on high alert as regional tensions persist.
The latest developments underline the rapidly worsening security situation across the Gulf, where repeated exchanges of strikes have raised concerns among regional governments and the international community. Analysts warn that continued military escalation could threaten vital infrastructure, disrupt maritime trade routes and increase the risk of a broader regional confrontation.
International observers have urged restraint from all sides to prevent further violence and avoid a wider conflict. Diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing tensions remain under pressure as military operations continue.
Authorities in Iran are still assessing the full extent of the damage caused by the latest strikes. Rescue teams remain deployed in affected areas, while officials say updated casualty figures and damage assessments will be released as more information becomes available.
