ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – In a major update for commuters, the federal government has officially reversed its earlier decision to temporarily reduce speed limits across the country’s primary road networks, fully restoring the previous speed limits for all categories of vehicles.
According to a National Highways and Motorways Police (NHMP) spokesperson, the maximum speed limit for cars and Light Transport Vehicles (LTVs) on motorways has been raised back to 120 kilometers per hour, while Public Service Vehicles (PSVs) and Heavy Transport Vehicles (HTVs) are once again permitted to travel at 110 kilometers per hour.
A similar restoration has been implemented across all national highways in accordance with previously prescribed rates. Following the announcement, the NHMP issued a fresh advisory urging motorists to strictly comply with traffic regulations, maintaining that lane discipline and responsible driving practices remain absolutely vital for preventing accidents and ensuring smooth traffic flow nationwide.
