LAHORE: Punjab Information and Culture Minister Uzma Bukhari on Sunday alleged that KP CM Sohail Afridi was found involved in the attack on Radio Pakistan Peshawar, claiming that a forensic report had established the facts.

Speaking to the media, Uzma Bukhari said the forensic analysis proved the allegations and added that the courts should punish those found guilty on the basis of the report.

She further alleged that KP CM Sohail Afridi recently visited Karachi where, according to her, he misbehaved with media representatives and attempted to create chaos and sedition. She said Afridi should have apologised to the nation for visiting Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s mausoleum and for incidents such as the burning of Jinnah House.

Uzma Bukhari remarked that instead of expressing regret over violent incidents, including attacks on state institutions and loss of lives, the opposition leadership showed no sense of shame or responsibility.

Referring to statements attributed to senior political figures, she said that it had been claimed that if anyone from their party was involved in a terrorist incident, they would apologise to the nation. However, she added that footage from May 9 had now surfaced.

The Punjab information minister claimed that KP CM Sohail Afridi and Taimur Jhagra were involved in the May 9 incidents, stating that 16 videos were analysed and found to be untampered. She further alleged that audio and video evidence, including material linked to Murad Saeed, identified locations connected to acts of violence.

Uzma Bukhari warned that it was dangerous for individuals who claimed to protect the Constitution to speak about dividing Pakistan. She said it was painful to witness such statements, particularly from senior political figures.

She added that while Nawaz Sharif continued to talk about negotiations, the individual imprisoned in Adiala Jail and his sisters spoke about talks in what she described as a rebellious tone.
