LAHORE: In celebration of Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s 555th anniversary, a grand event was held at Alhamra Hall in Lahore, attended by a large number of Sikh pilgrims from India and around the world.
The event, titled ” Sanjha Punjab,” featured cultural programs and traditional performances in honor of the visiting Sikh pilgrims. The event was hosted by Provincial Minister for Information and Culture, Ms. Azma Zahid Bakari, with the participation of Provincial Minister for Minority Affairs, Mr. Ramesh Singh Arora, and other prominent government figures.
Azma Zahid Bakari, while speaking at the occasion, emphasized the historic measures taken this year to welcome Sikh pilgrims. She stated, “The Chief Minister of Punjab, India, should take the issue of smog seriously, as it has become a critical problem not only in Pakistan but also in the Punjab region of India.” She further noted that the aim of this event was to strengthen ties with Sikh pilgrims and promote cultural harmony between the two nations.
Ramesh Singh Arora highlighted the special arrangements made by the Punjab government to ensure that the Sikh pilgrims’ visit was comfortable and memorable. He said, “This time, more facilities have been provided for the pilgrims, honoring their religious sentiments.”
During the event, artists performed cultural plays related to the theme of “Sanjha Punjab,” which were greatly appreciated by the audience. Sikh pilgrims present at the event expressed their admiration for Lahore’s historical and cultural significance, recognizing it as an important place of respect in their religious beliefs.
