LAHORE: The Federal Ombudsman Secretariat for Protection Against Harassment of Women at the Workplace has issued notices to several Customs officials in connection with a workplace harassment complaint filed by a female Customs inspector.

According to a notice dated Sept. 29, 2026, issued by the Lahore office of the Federal Ombudsman Secretariat, the matter has been registered under Complaint No. FOH-HQR-H/0193/2026.
The notice names several officials of the Collectorate of Customs (Enforcement), Lahore, as respondents, including Superintendent Customs Rashid Munir, Inspectors Ghulam Rasool, Superintendent Javed Iqbal
and others. The respondents have been directed to submit their written defence before the Regional Head, Federal Ombudsman, in connection with the complaint.
Rashid Munir, when approached for his version, categorically denied the allegations. He said a female officer was present whenever the complainant was questioned and rejected any suggestion of inappropriate conduct.
Javed Iqbal also denied the allegations, maintaining that he had performed his official duties in accordance with the applicable rules.
Ghulam Rasool similarly rejected the allegations and said that he had performed his official responsibilities in his official capacity.
The Federal Ombudsman notice represents a formal development in the case, with the respondents required to submit their written defences before the forum.
The Chief Collector of Customs (Enforcement), Jamil Nasir, was approached for the department’s position and confirmation of the status of the matter. No response had been received until the time of publication.
