ISLAMABAD – The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has announced a major reshuffle of senior Pakistan Customs officers, making important transfers and postings across major field formations including Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, Sialkot, Multan, Faisalabad and other stations.
The FBR issued notifications 1482-C-I/2026 and 1483-C-I/2026, dated July 24, 2026, transferring and posting officers of the Pakistan Customs Service from BS-17 to BS-20 with immediate effect.
The latest reshuffle has brought significant changes in key operational formations responsible for customs clearance, anti-smuggling operations, enforcement, intelligence and airport-related activities.
Major postings in Lahore
In Lahore, Ms Beelam Ramzan (PCS/BS-20) has been posted as Collector, Collectorate of Customs Appraisement (West), Lahore, after serving as Collector Customs Sambrial, Sialkot.
Mr Tahir Abbas (PCS/BS-19) has been assigned as Collector (OPS), Collectorate of Customs Airports, Lahore, along with additional charge of Collector (OPS), Collectorate of Customs Appraisement (East), Lahore.
The notification also appointed Mr Jahanzeb Abbasi (PCS/BS-19) as Additional Director, Directorate of Intelligence and Investigation, Lahore, after his previous assignment as Additional Collector, Customs Enforcement Multan.
At the deputy collector level, Ms Jaweria Shahid has been posted as Deputy Collector, Customs Airports Lahore, while Mr Ali Hassan has been appointed Deputy Collector, Customs Appraisement (East), Lahore.
Ms Kashmala Tahseen has been posted as Deputy Collector, Customs Appraisement (West), Lahore, whereas Mr Ali Haider has been transferred as Deputy Director, Directorate of National Nuclear Detection Architecture (NNDA), Lahore.
Several Assistant Collectors have also been reshuffled in Lahore. Mr Muhammad Sharjeel Abbas has been posted as Assistant Collector, Customs Enforcement Lahore, while Mr Muhammad Yasir Kabeer and Mr Abuhuraira Khan have been posted as Assistant Collectors (Probationary) at Customs Airports Lahore.
Key changes in Karachi
The FBR also made important changes in Karachi, the country’s largest customs hub handling the majority of Pakistan’s maritime trade.
Syed Ali Abbas Gardezi (PCS/BS-20) has been transferred from the post of Director, Directorate of Intelligence and Investigation Lahore, and posted as Director, Directorate of Intelligence and Investigation Karachi.
The reshuffle is expected to impact the working of Karachi Customs formations involved in import, export, anti-smuggling and intelligence operations.
Islamabad and other formations
In Islamabad, changes have been made in Customs formations linked with headquarters, enforcement and administrative responsibilities.
The FBR also transferred officers serving in other important stations including Sialkot, Multan, Faisalabad and Sambrial, as part of the nationwide administrative exercise.
The notifications directed all transferred officers to relinquish their existing charges and assume their new responsibilities immediately. Charge assumption reports are required to be submitted for official record.
Officers already receiving performance allowance will continue to draw the allowance at their new places of posting, except those posted at FBR Headquarters, Islamabad, according to the notification.
Strengthening Customs operations
The reshuffle comes at a time when Pakistan Customs is facing increasing responsibilities in trade facilitation, revenue collection, anti-smuggling measures and border management.
Officials said the fresh postings are aimed at improving administrative efficiency, strengthening enforcement mechanisms and ensuring effective supervision of Customs operations across the country.
