ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) -Pakistan Women’s cricket team captain Fatima Sana delivered a historic all-round performance in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup match against South Africa, despite Pakistan ultimately suffering a narrow two-wicket defeat.

Batting first, Pakistan faced an early collapse and slumped to 50 for 8. Fatima Sana staged a resilient counter-attack, smashing an unbeaten 55 off just 38 balls, including six fours and two sixes. This marked her maiden T20 World Cup half-century and included a record-breaking partnership with Tuba Hassan to rescue the innings. Her knock made history as the highest individual score ever recorded by a number eight or lower batter in Women’s T20 World Cup history.

During the defense, Fatima Sana kept Pakistan in the game by dismantling the South African batting lineup, claiming 3 wickets for 16 runs. While the Proteas managed to cross the finish line, Fatima Sana’s exceptional feat made her the first captain in women’s T20 cricket history to score a half-century and take three wickets in a single match.
