(Web Desk) Pakistani singer Abrar-ul-Haq has accused Bollywood producers of using forged documents to illegally feature his iconic song “Nach Punjaban” in the film “Jugjugg Jeeyo”.
Speaking on a recent podcast, Abrar-ul-Haq firmly denied ever selling the rights to the track. He explained that when he confronted the filmmakers, they claimed to have acquired the song from his friend, Haroon Rashid. The singer rejected this assertion, clarifying that he never transferred ownership to Rashid and that the track remains his exclusive intellectual property.
Furthermore, Abrar-ul-Haq alleged that fake documents with counterfeited signatures were manufactured to justify the song’s use. He claimed that this reflects a broader pattern of Bollywood manipulating facts to exploit artists. Expressing disappointment over the lack of permission or compensation from producer Karan Johar—despite the film’s promotional campaign relying heavily on the track—the singer confirmed that he has filed a lawsuit to pursue the matter in court.
