LAHORE | June 2, 2026 – Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has taken another step toward strengthening the country’s coaching structure with the launch of a Level 2 Coaching Course at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Lahore, bringing together current and former cricketers eager to expand their expertise beyond their playing careers.
A total of 29 participants have enrolled in the six-day program, which began on Tuesday and will continue until June 7. Among the attendees are three Test cricketers—Asif Khan Afridi, Fakhar Zaman and Usman Khan Shinwari—along with international cricketer Hussain Talat.
The initiative reflects a growing emphasis on developing qualified coaches capable of guiding the next generation of Pakistani cricketers. By participating in the course, players are gaining exposure to modern coaching methods and advanced cricketing concepts that extend beyond on-field performance.
Throughout the program, participants will receive training in a wide range of areas designed to prepare them for coaching responsibilities at different levels of the game. Sessions will focus on advanced batting techniques, tactical awareness, game analysis, and contemporary coaching practices that align with the evolving demands of international cricket.
In addition to technical instruction, the curriculum includes modules on sports psychology, athlete management, communication strategies, and the importance of mental and physical conditioning. Participants will also learn about biomechanics and its role in improving player performance, preventing injuries, and enhancing overall athletic development.
