ISLAMABAD – Advisor to the Prime Minister on Political Affairs, Rana Sanaullah Khan, has emphasized that political and economic stability in Pakistan can only be achieved through dialogue and consensus. He said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, on Independence Day, had announced the “Pact for Stability of Pakistan,” which is centered on the idea of resolving issues by sitting together at the negotiating table.

Rana Sanaullah noted that courts hold the authority to decide legal matters, and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has the right to appeal decisions. However, he stressed that criticism of judicial verdicts must remain within legal and constitutional boundaries.
Referring to the events of May 9, the advisor said PTI leaders had incited violence by declaring that “if there is Khan, then there is Pakistan.” He accused PTI of failing to take responsibility for attacks on public and military properties, including the desecration of martyrs’ memorials and assaults on airbases. “As a political party, PTI should have apologized for these actions, otherwise the situation would not have deteriorated to this extent,” he remarked.
He further clarified that the government and PML-N neither intend to exclude anyone from the political process nor will they allow any unconstitutional bypassing. “The matter will remain transparent and in front of the people,” he added.
Commenting on Imran Khan’s imprisonment, Rana Sanaullah said, “We have no objection if Khan is given facilities in jail. Let him have two ACs in the morning, noon, and evening, and even a PC for dinner.”
