LAHORE – Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Amir Naeem-ur-Rehman has hailed the “Mera Brand Pakistan” Expo 2025 as a bold initiative to promote local products and challenge Israeli economic influence through a nationwide boycott movement. Speaking at the Expo Centre Lahore, he said the event sends a clear message that Pakistan can meet its own needs through domestic brands while standing in solidarity with Gaza’s oppressed people.

Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) President Mian Abuzar Shad praised the organisers for uniting the business community and consumers on one platform. He said the exhibition not only showcased the strength of Pakistani manufacturers but also highlighted the moral responsibility of supporting the Palestinian cause through economic choices.
LCCI Senior Vice President Khalid Usman noted that the wide variety of stalls reflected the depth and potential of local industry. “From food to textiles, electronics to cosmetics, our brands are capable of competing internationally if given sustained public and policy support,” he said.
Vice President Shahid Nazir Chaudhry said “Mera Brand Pakistan” was a practical answer to those questioning alternatives to Israeli goods. “When over 200 quality brands are available under one roof, there’s no excuse left for buying products that support an oppressive regime,” he remarked.
Pakistan Business Forum President Ejaz Tanveer said the campaign’s significance went beyond commerce. “This is about economic independence and moral integrity. Every rupee spent on a local product strengthens Pakistan and distances us from supporting injustice,” he stated.
Briefly addressing the gathering, Jamaat-e-Islami Women’s Wing Deputy Secretary General Dr Zubaida Jabeen condemned the silence of the global community over Israel’s brutality in Gaza. Director Media Cell Sameena Saeed and Deputy Secretary Dr Sameeha Raheel Qazi also commended the Expo’s role in promoting local brands and supporting Palestinians, while calling for sustained quality improvements.
The event, hosted by Pakistan Business Forum, drew large crowds as over 200 Pakistani companies set up stalls offering products in various categories. The vibrant atmosphere reflected strong public interest in replacing foreign goods with domestic alternatives.
Central Punjab President Nazia Toheed, Lahore Chief Uzma Imran, and other senior JI women leaders also toured the stalls. Organisers said the “Mera Brand Pakistan” campaign, already successful in Karachi and Lahore, would soon expand nationwide to amplify its economic and social impact.
