PESHAWAR – In the Senate elections held in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) secured a lead by winning 6 out of the 11 Senate seats, while opposition parties claimed 5 seats under a pre-agreed formula. Meanwhile, the lone Punjab seat went to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).

All 145 members of the KP Assembly cast their votes during the polling process.
According to the final results, PTI won 4 of the 7 general seats. The successful candidates include Murad Saeed, Faisal Javed, Mirza Afridi, and Noor-ul-Haq Qadri. On the other hand, the opposition clinched the remaining 3 general seats, with Niaz Ahmed of PML-N, Talha Mahmood of PPP, and Atta-ul-Haq of JUI-F emerging victorious.
Vote counts revealed that Murad Saeed secured 26 votes, Faisal Javed 22 votes, while both Noor-ul-Haq Qadri and Mirza Afridi bagged 21 votes each.
For the two reserved women’s seats, PTI’s Rubina Naz and PPP’s Rubina Khalid were declared successful. Rubina Naz received a significant 89 votes.
On technocrat seats, PTI’s Azam Swati won one seat, while JUI-F’s Dilawar Khan claimed the other.
The Senate elections in KP were conducted peacefully, and the results reflect the strength of PTI in the provincial assembly, despite the opposition’s collective strategy under the agreed formula.
