64 suspects, 15 proclaimed offenders held in Lahore Police combing operations

LAHORE:  Lahore Police have continued search and combing operations across the provincial capital to maintain law and order and curb criminal elements. During various operations conducted this month, 64 suspicious individuals and 15 proclaimed offenders have been taken into custody.

This was stated by the Lahore Police spokesperson in a statement issued here on Thursday. The spokesperson said that a total of 74 search and combing operations have been carried out in different parts of the city during the current month.

During these operations, more than 6,500 houses were searched while over 10,500 individuals were checked. Similarly, 285 shops, 23 guest houses, six bus stands and the railway station were also inspected as part of the search and combing operations.

 

Capital City Police Officer Bilal Siddique Kamyana has directed police officers to further intensify combing operations against criminal elements. He also ordered that foolproof security arrangements be ensured during the hours of Sehri, Iftar and Taraweeh.

 

He added that search and combing operations would be made more effective to ensure the peaceful observance of the holy month and indiscriminate action against criminal elements would continue.
