LAHORE: Punjab Assembly Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan has said Rescue 1122 has saved millions of lives across Punjab.
The speaker made these remarks at the closing ceremony of the International Rescue Challenge at the Emergency Services Academy.
In his address, Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan congratulated the champion team on their success, praising it as a symbol of humanitarian spirit. He acknowledged the participation of teams from Malaysia, China, Korea, the Philippines, Thailand, the United Kingdom, Nepal, and Pakistan, appreciating their commitment to the event.
The Speaker commended the Emergency Services Academy as a beacon of hope, having trained thousands of rescuers. He further emphasized that the Punjab government, under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, is devoted to public welfare. He announced that following the launch of the Air Ambulance Service, the Motorway Ambulance Service would also soon be introduced to provide timely assistance.

The event featured international rescue challenges and exercises under the UN INSARAG, with 274 delegates from 23 countries. Also present were the Provincial Minister for Emergency Services, Khawaja Salman Rafique, Secretary of the Emergency Services Department, Dr. Rizwan Naseer, UN INSARAG Secretary Winston Chang, and U.S. Consul General Kristin Hawkins.
The Speaker distributed awards among outstanding performers at the event.
