Women’s largest sports event Khelta Punjab Pink Games to explode into action today

LAHORE (February 10, 2026): Khelta Punjab Pink Games, the women’s largest sports event in the province, will explode into action with a grand opening ceremony at Punjab Stadium on February 11 (Wednesday).

The contingents from all divisions of province will participate in the march past at the opening ceremony in which Olympian Faiqa Riaz will perform as flag bearer. Young female athletes, carrying the games torch, will also take a round of the stadium. Musical performances will be presented at the opening ceremony to entertain the large audience.

Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar reviewed the arrangements of Khelta Punjab Pink Games opening ceremony at the Punjab Stadium where Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Muhammad Ali gave a detailed briefing on the preparations of women’s Pink Games. Vice Chairman Sports Board Punjab Malik Sulaiman and officials of Punjab Sports Department were also present on the occasion.

The exciting competitions of 5-day sports event will be organized at the different venues of Nishtar Park Sports Complex under the aegis of Punjab Sports Department in accordance with the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. The competitions of hockey, badminton, basketball, table tennis and volleyball will be organized on the first day of grand event.

Talking to media on this occasion, Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar said that more than 3,000 female players from all divisions of Punjab province will participate in 20 sports disciplines such as archery, athletics, badminton, basketball, boxing, chess, cycling, cricket tape ball, hockey, karate, mat wrestling, padel tennis, rugby, swimming, tug-of-war, taekwondo, table tennis, volleyball, weightlifting and wushu during the grand sports event.

Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar said that Punjab Sports Department is organizing Khelta Punjab Pink Games to promote sports culture among the female athletes of the province so that they can exhibit their sports talent and skills at a bigger platform. He issued instructions to the officials concerned to make the event arrangements more effective and efficient.

Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar said that Khelta Punjab Pink Games will be a milestone in the promotion of sports culture among females across the province. “Punjab Sports Department is taking effective measures for providing sufficient playing opportunities to female athletes of the province. The purpose of the Pink Games is to trace talented female athletes from across the province”.
