Woman dies after accidental gunshot during cupboard cleaning in Sargodha

SARGODHA (Web Desk) – A 22-year-old woman lost her life after being struck by an accidental gunshot in Mian Hayat Colony, Sargodha, police said on Tuesday.

According to family members, the incident occurred while a cupboard was being cleaned at the house. A pistol stored inside the cupboard reportedly went off accidentally, and the bullet hit Nida Ashraf in the chest, causing critical injuries.

Rescue officials rushed the woman to a nearby hospital, but she could not survive. Her body was later shifted for a post-mortem examination to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the incident.

Police have launched an investigation and collected evidence from the scene. Officials said that while initial findings suggest the shooting was accidental, all possibilities are being examined, including homicide and suicide.

Investigators are interviewing family members and reviewing forensic evidence to establish the facts behind the tragic death.
