LAHORE: A dignified and spiritually uplifting ceremony was held at the Theological Seminary Campus of the Presbyterian Church Gujranwala in honor of graduating seminary students. Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora, Provincial Minister for Minority Affairs Punjab distributed shields among students. The purpose of the ceremony was to highlight and promote the values of interfaith harmony, religious tolerance, leadership, service, and peace. The event was hosted and moderated by Dr. Majid Abel, Chairman of the Board of Directors. In his inspiring address, Dr. Abel emphasized that along with theological education, it is essential to provide youth with moral and social leadership training. He noted that the graduating students will not only serve in churches but will also play vital roles in society as ambassadors of peace, service, and interfaith harmony.
Speaking at the occasion, Provincial Minister Ramesh Singh Arora stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, the Government of Punjab is taking practical steps to ensure the education, development, religious freedom, and representation of minorities. Empowering minority communities is one of our top priorities, and we want them to play an active role in the progress of Pakistan.
He congratulated the graduates and appreciated the initiative of training youth in both spiritual and social leadership. He also praised the educational and religious services of the Presbyterian Church and acknowledged the crucial role of churches in promoting interfaith understanding.
The ceremony was attended by clergy, religious scholars, civil society members, parents, representatives of missionary institutions, and other distinguished guests from various churches. Speakers lauded the young graduates as “missionary ambassadors of community service” and described their training as a significant step toward fostering interfaith harmony. The ceremony concluded with a collective prayer for the graduates, as well as special prayers for the peace, progress, interfaith harmony, and unity of the nation.
