Lahore, January 9, 2026:
The Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA) is set to organize the first-ever national SME cluster exhibition titled Made in Pakistan: SME Cluster Showcase 2026, a three-day landmark event scheduled for January 24–26 at the Lahore Expo Centre.

Speaking about the initiative, SMEDA Chief Executive Officer Ms. Nadia Jahangir Seth said the exhibition aims to strengthen Pakistan’s micro, small and medium enterprise ecosystem in line with the SME development vision of the Prime Minister of Pakistan. She added that the vision is being implemented under the direct leadership of Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Mr. Haroon Akhtar Khan and Secretary Ministry of Industries and Production Mr. Saif Anjum.

Ms. Seth explained that the expo is envisioned as a multi-year national platform that will gradually evolve from product visibility and cluster recognition into structured business-to-business partnerships, subcontracting ecosystems, export readiness and global buyer linkages. She expressed hope that the exhibition would expand market access and position SME clusters as a structured and competitive pillar of the national economy.

Highlighting the importance of SMEs, the SMEDA CEO said that they form the backbone of Pakistan’s economy and are largely concentrated in regional and sectoral clusters. However, she noted that many SMEs, particularly women-led businesses and micro enterprises, face challenges related to visibility, investment readiness and access to high-value domestic and international markets. The Cluster Showcase, she said, aims to bridge these gaps by providing a high-impact platform connecting SMEs with corporate buyers, policymakers, investors, financial institutions and international stakeholders.

According to the organizers, Pakistan’s first national SME cluster exhibition will help develop a baseline to promote local products and strengthen competitiveness in line with the government’s economic vision. Over the three days, the event will combine a national exhibition with structured business matchmaking and policy dialogue.

SMEs from across the country belonging to agro-food and processing, textiles and handicrafts, surgical instruments and light engineering, leather and leather products, furniture, marble and granite, ICT and services sectors are being selected to participate. Recognized trade bodies have been asked to nominate SME exhibitors demonstrating quality, innovation and market readiness, with special preference given to women-led micro enterprises.

Officials said the program will feature a high-profile opening ceremony, cluster-specific pavilions, exhibitor stalls, dedicated enclaves, expert panel discussions and an SME awards ceremony recognizing excellence and innovation.

SMEDA is also ensuring broad participation from corporate buyers, procurement heads, regulatory stakeholders, financial institutions, development partners, foreign missions, students, media and the general public.
