DEHLI (Web Desk) – Raveena Tandon has spoken candidly about the frightening events surrounding the controversy that erupted outside her Mumbai residence in 2024, describing the night as one of the most chaotic experiences she has ever faced. In a recent conversation with ETimes, the actor revisited the incident in which she and her driver were accused by a family of physically assaulting a woman — allegations she firmly denied from the beginning.
According to Raveena, the claims were later disproved through CCTV footage from the building premises. She also stated that police officials informed her that the entire episode appeared to be part of an alleged “extortion plan.” Reflecting on the matter, the actor said she initially tried to handle the situation calmly because she believed some of the women involved might have been guests in the area. Wanting to avoid unnecessary conflict, she decided to step outside and speak to them personally.
However, what she encountered outside shocked her. Raveena recalled seeing nearly 30 men gathered outside her gate, creating an atmosphere of fear and intimidation. She explained that the confrontation began after her driver reportedly lowered a woman’s phone when she attempted to film inside the property. The disagreement allegedly escalated quickly, with the woman threatening to lodge a serious complaint against him.
Concerned about the potential consequences for her driver, Raveena said she felt compelled to intervene. But the situation soon spiraled out of control. She revealed that while her driver managed to pull her back inside the compound for safety, he was left exposed to the crowd and was allegedly assaulted. The mob, she claimed, also attacked a security guard who attempted to stop them from entering.
Describing the tense moments, Raveena said that only three women — herself and two domestic staff members — stood between the crowd and the entrance to her home. Amid the chaos, one man allegedly forced his way into the house. The actor recounted physically confronting him and pushing him out herself in an attempt to protect those inside.
Despite the traumatic experience, Raveena continues to focus on work. She is currently gearing up for the release of Welcome To The Jungle, directed by Ahmed Khan. The ensemble comedy also stars Akshay Kumar, Arshad Warsi, Suniel Shetty, Paresh Rawal and several others. The film is slated for a theatrical release on June 26.
