LAHORE– Chairman of the Pakistan Industrial and Traders Associations Front (PIAF), Syed Mahmood Ghaznavi, has lauded Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s decision to slash electricity tariffs, calling it a significant step towards economic relief and industrial growth.

In a statement, Ghaznavi praised the government for reducing household electricity prices by Rs. 7.41 per unit and industrial tariffs by Rs. 7.59 per unit, stating that the move will provide much-needed relief to consumers and enhance the competitiveness of local industries.
He emphasized that lower electricity costs would help businesses reduce production expenses, strengthen exports, and contribute to economic stability. “This initiative will improve industrial output and create a more favorable business environment, ultimately benefiting the national economy,” he added.
The PIAF chairman reaffirmed his support for government policies aimed at facilitating trade and industry, urging further reforms to boost investor confidence and sustain economic growth.
