PAC reviews 62 irrigation audit paras, orders NAB follow-up and strict anti-corruption action

LAHORE: Today, a meeting of the Public Accounts Committee has held at the Punjab Assembly under the chairmanship of Syed Ali Haider Gilani (Hilal-e-Imtiaz). Officers from the Punjab Assembly Secretariat and various government departments attended the meeting.

During the meeting, audit paras relating to the Irrigation Department were discussed in detail. A total of 62 audit paras were taken up for consideration.

The committee directed the Irrigation Department to effectively follow up on old cases with the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and to submit a detailed progress report in the next meeting of the Public Accounts Committee. Furthermore, the committee emphasized that a zero-tolerance policy against corruption would be strictly enforced, and any officers found involved in these matters would be dealt with in accordance with the rules and regulations.
