He urged global stakeholders to prioritise negotiations over confrontation, stating that continued diplomatic engagement would help prevent further escalation and foster long-term stability.

The LCCI president also called on the prime minister to leverage this diplomatic success to advance Pakistan’s broader national interests. He highlighted the need to strengthen economic and trade relations with Iran, particularly under current regional circumstances.

He stressed the importance of expediting the Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline project, terming it crucial for meeting the country’s energy demands. He added that increased bilateral trade with Iran could boost economic growth, enhance regional connectivity, and support local industries.

In addition, Tanveer Sheikh called for the nomination of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir for the Nobel Peace Prize, in recognition of their diplomatic efforts in reducing tensions and promoting peace in the region.

He concluded by stating that the business community fully supports initiatives aimed at ensuring peace and economic cooperation, noting that regional stability is essential for sustainable development and prosperity.
