KARACHI (Web Desk) – Karachi police have stepped up the investigation into the murder of 25-year-old Mir Raza Ali after recovering fresh evidence from the crime scene, as investigators continue efforts to identify those responsible and uncover the circumstances surrounding the killing.
The latest development came after investigators revisited the area linked to the case and carried out another detailed inspection with the assistance of forensic experts. Officials say the fresh search is aimed at collecting additional evidence that could help reconstruct the sequence of events leading to the victim’s death.
According to police officials, the investigation team, accompanied by the Crime Scene Unit, conducted a thorough examination of the crime scene and surrounding areas. During the operation, investigators recovered a pistol holster believed to be connected to the murder.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SP) Gulshan-e-Iqbal Ghulam Shabbir Sarki personally supervised the inspection and reviewed the progress of the investigation with officers at the scene.
Police officials said forensic experts will examine the recovered holster to determine whether it is directly linked to the weapon allegedly used in the killing. They expressed hope that laboratory analysis may provide important clues to help identify the suspects.

Investigators are also continuing an extensive search for the firearm believed to have been used in the murder. Search operations are being carried out in nearby areas while teams examine every possible lead obtained during the investigation.

Mir Raza Ali, a resident of PECHS Block 2, was reportedly abducted earlier this week before his body was discovered on Wednesday in bushes near a marriage hall in Gulistan-e-Jauhar Block 2, within the limits of Gulistan-e-Jauhar Police Station.
The recovery of the body prompted police to launch a full-scale investigation involving multiple departments, including crime scene investigators, forensic specialists and intelligence units.
Police said forensic samples collected from the scene have been sent for laboratory examination. Investigators are awaiting the results, which could help establish additional links between the suspects, the crime scene and the evidence recovered.
Officials added that mobile phone records, surveillance footage and other digital data are also being analysed to identify the victim’s last known contacts and movements before the alleged abduction.
