Karachi court appearance of alleged cocaine supplier Pinky raises questions over protocol

KARACHI (Web Desk) – Anmol, alias “Pinky”, an alleged leader of a cocaine trafficking gang, was shifted to hospital after reportedly falling ill, officials said on Monday.

According to reports, the suspect underwent a medical examination at the Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation (SIUT) following a deterioration in her health.

DIG Prisons Fida Hussain Mastoi has written a letter requesting security arrangements for her transfer to hospital, citing serious security concerns.

The letter stated that 23 criminal cases have been registered against the accused, adding that strict security measures are required for her movement from Central Jail to SIUT.

Prison authorities have also formally requested support from the Additional Inspector General of Karachi Police. A separate request had earlier been sent to the city police chief for enhanced security during her treatment.

Officials said arrangements are being made to ensure secure transfer and continuous monitoring of the suspect during her hospital stay.
