RAWALPINDI (Monitoring Desk) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan has cautioned that mounting friction with Afghanistan might lead to an upsurge in terrorism within Pakistan.

He emphasized that peace should be achieved through dialogue and a political approach, not by resorting only to force.
The remarks came through PTI leaders Barrister Gohar Khan, Senator Ali Zafar, and Barrister Saif, who briefed the media outside Adiala Jail after meeting Imran Khan during the Toshakhana-II case hearing.
According to the PTI representatives, Imran Khan appreciated recent developments in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and lauded Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and party lawmakers for their unity. He congratulated the team, stating, “Governance is the right of those who have the people’s trust and mandate.”

The PTI founder reiterated that his party condemns all kinds of terrorism, stressing that “the army is ours and so are our martyrs.” He urged that innocent lives must not be lost and insisted that the lasting solution lies in political dialogue rather than continued military operations.
Barrister Saif shared that Imran Khan also condemned the violence against Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) workers and called for peaceful protests.
He added that Khan dismissed notions of hostility toward the armed forces, saying, “My own family has served in the army. It’s time to stop branding others as traitors for having different opinions.”
Imran Khan also cautioned that military strikes or cross-border hostilities with Afghanistan could further inflame terrorism in Pakistan.
When asked about the National Action Plan (NAP), Barrister Gohar Khan explained that “confusion arises when people discuss NAP without understanding it fully.” He reminded that PTI had already referred to the plan and targeted operations in its January all-parties conference statement.
He added that although the party had not yet reviewed the revised NAP presented by DG ISPR, PTI’s stance remains clear: “Military action alone cannot bring peace. A unified political strategy is the need of the hour.”
Gohar Khan also noted that Imran Khan was briefed on the Afghan Foreign Minister’s visit to India and reiterated that PTI believes in dialogue and national unity rather than confrontation.
