LAHORE: Inspector General of Police Punjab, Rao Abdul Kareem, received senior officials of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) at his office in Lahore on Wednesday. The meeting aimed to congratulate him on his recent appointment and discuss pressing concerns of the city’s business community.
Senior Vice President of LCCI, Tanveer Ahmed Sheikh, accompanied by Omar Sarfraz, Convener of Citizens-Police Liaison Committee (CPLC), extended warm felicitations to IG Punjab Rao Abdul Kareem on assuming the prestigious position. The business leaders expressed confidence in his leadership and commitment to maintaining law and order across the province.
The discussion focused on various issues affecting Lahore’s commercial sector, including security challenges faced by business establishments, theft and fraud prevention, and the overall law enforcement support required for a safer, investor-friendly environment. The delegation emphasized the importance of collaboration between the police and business community to ensure a conducive atmosphere for trade and investment.
IG Punjab Rao Abdul Kareem acknowledged the concerns raised and assured the delegation that the police force under his command would take proactive measures to address these issues. He highlighted the ongoing initiatives of the Punjab Police to strengthen community policing and improve public-private cooperation in tackling crime and ensuring a secure environment for businesses.
