TEHRAN (Web Desk) – Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has said the United States failed to achieve a swift military victory in the ongoing conflict, warning that Washington’s alternative strategy will also prove unsuccessful.

In a message posted on the social media platform X and addressed directly to US President Donald Trump, Araghchi criticised what he described as Washington’s initial war strategy.
“Plan A for a clean rapid military victory failed, Mr. President. Your Plan B will be even bigger failure,” Araghchi wrote, suggesting that the United States had miscalculated the situation on the ground.
The Iranian foreign minister also claimed that the outbreak of the conflict had derailed diplomatic progress that was previously underway between the two sides. According to Araghchi, negotiations had been making “significant progress” before the fighting began, raising hopes for a potential agreement.
He alleged that internal political forces in Washington played a role in halting those diplomatic efforts. Referring to what he described as an “America Last” faction, Araghchi accused them of pushing policies that undermined diplomacy and prolonged tensions in the region.
In a pointed remark about US support for Israel, the Iranian diplomat added that policies prioritising Israeli interests ultimately harmed American strategic goals. “‘Israel First’ always means ‘America Last,’” he said in his statement.
The remarks come amid rising tensions and continued hostilities in the Middle East, where the conflict has raised fears of wider regional escalation and disruptions to global energy and trade routes.
International observers have warned that prolonged fighting could further destabilise the region, while diplomatic efforts by several countries are continuing in an attempt to prevent the crisis from expanding into a broader war.
