LAHORE The government has increased the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) by Rs11.30 per litre while maintaining the current petrol rate for the next two weeks, according to a late-night notification issued by the Petroleum Division on Saturday.

The revision, based on international market trends and recommendations from the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra), sets the new ex-depot price of HSD at Rs268.38 per litre, up from Rs257.08.
Diesel is widely used in heavy transport, trains, and agricultural machinery, making it a key driver of inflation, particularly affecting the cost of food and vegetables.
Meanwhile, the ex-depot price of petrol remains unchanged at Rs253.17 per litre. Petrol is mainly used by private vehicles, motorcycles, rickshaws, and small transport, directly influencing household budgets.
The new prices will take effect from February 1 (Sunday).
