CHANGA MANGA (Web Desk): Four children tragically drowned in a pond in the Warsingh Wala area of Changa Manga, Rescue 1122 officials confirmed.
Rescue teams rushed to the scene after receiving an emergency call and recovered the bodies of all four victims from the pond. The children, aged between nine and 11 years, had reportedly travelled from Toba Tek Singh to spend their summer holidays at their maternal relatives’ home.
According to local residents, the children’s parents had gone to a nearby forest to collect firewood when the incident occurred. Initial reports suggest that one child accidentally slipped into the pond, prompting the other three to jump in an attempt to save him. Sadly, all four children drowned in water estimated to be eight to 10 feet deep.
The devastating incident has cast a pall of grief over the community, with residents mourning the tragic loss of the young lives.
