LAHORE: The Punjab government has announced major budget allocations for the provincial judiciary and legal services to enhance timely justice delivery.
Under the new budget, civil courts will receive Rs 22 billion, while sessions courts have been allocated Rs 14 billion.
The Lahore High Court, Advocate General Office, and general legal services have each been granted a separate allocation of Rs 11 billion.
Further funding includes Rs 4.68 billion for the Prosecutor General Department, Rs 2.20 billion for Law and Parliamentary Affairs, Rs 420 million for special courts, and Rs 330 million dedicated to constructing lady bar rooms across the province.
Additionally, Rs 290 million goes to the Public Prosecution Department, Rs 260 million to labour courts, and Rs 150 million to the Punjab Judicial Academy to strengthen provincial judicial infrastructure.
