LAHORE: A frustrated citizen Asghar, attempted self-immolation outside the Punjab Police headquarters in Lahore after being rebuffed despite a lengthy wait. Disillusioned with the authorities’ apathy, he took to a drastic step.
Meanwhile a police constable, Hameed, swiftly intervened to rescue Asghar.
However, Asgahr was admitted to hospital and an investigation was initiated.
The IG Punjab took a swift notice, seeking a detailed report and ensuring Asghar receives expert medical attention.
The IG also instructed the DIG operation to personally address Asghar’s grievances and provide top-tier care to the injured.[:]
