LAHORE (Staff Reporter): Punjab Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman has called for a report from the Chairman of the Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) regarding the appointment process for the position of Director IT, official sources indicate.

According to available information, observations have been made regarding the educational qualifications associated with the said post. The position reportedly requires a degree in Computer Science or Information Technology, while the currently serving official is understood to hold an engineering background.

Sources familiar with internal developments suggest that the matter had earlier come under review by a regularization committee in January 2024. Further, a three-member committee was reportedly constituted in February 2025 to look into related procedural aspects.

Administrative circles note that while the inquiry is ongoing, the official continues to serve, with an additional administrative portfolio also assigned.

The report being sought is expected to provide clarity on the procedural compliance and recruitment practices involved in the case.
