Tucker Carlson claims Netanyahu pushing Trump towards possible nuclear strike on Iran

US commentator Tucker Carlson alleged Netanyahu is urging Trump to consider a nuclear strike on Iran, but the claim remains unverified amid ongoing diplomatic efforts.

WASHINGTON (Web Desk) – American political commentator Tucker Carlson has raised alarm over the possibility of a renewed military confrontation between the United States and Iran, claiming that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is pressuring President Donald Trump to consider a nuclear strike against an Iranian underground facility.

In a lengthy statement posted on social media platform X on Monday, November 2, Carlson alleged that the Trump administration could be approaching a decision on military action against Pickaxe Mountain, a suspected underground nuclear facility in central Iran.

He claimed that Netanyahu was seeking American military intervention amid political difficulties following Israel’s recent elections and was encouraging influential officials within the Trump administration to support renewed military operations against Tehran.

Carlson further alleged that Netanyahu was in frequent contact with Trump regarding the possibility of an attack, citing an unnamed individual familiar with the matter.

However, Carlson did not provide independently verifiable evidence that Washington was preparing to authorise a nuclear strike. His allegations have not been confirmed by the White House or Israeli government.

Pickaxe Mountain becomes focus of speculation

Carlson identified Pickaxe Mountain as the potential target of the alleged military operation, claiming that the underground facility was protected by approximately 300 feet of solid granite.

He argued that conventional American weapons might not be capable of destroying tunnels located deep beneath the mountain and suggested that a nuclear weapon could be considered.

The facility has increasingly featured in discussions about Iran’s nuclear infrastructure and possible future military operations.

US President Donald Trump also referred to Pickaxe Mountain during remarks at his Florida residence on Sunday, saying that Washington still had one or two targets to address.

Trump indicated that the United States could deal with the remaining targets quickly, adding that operations against the suspected underground site could be completed within minutes.

Iran has denied that nuclear-related activities are taking place at the facility in the manner alleged by its adversaries.

Importantly, Trump previously explicitly rejected the need to use nuclear weapons against Iran. In an October 15 interview, he said: “I wouldn’t use nuclear. We don’t have to.” <Cite refs={[“turn914531search9″,”turn914531search6″,”turn914531search12”]}/>

Carlson alleges Netanyahu seeking US intervention

In his statement, Carlson connected Netanyahu’s alleged military lobbying efforts with the Israeli prime minister’s political difficulties following the recent elections.

He claimed that Netanyahu needed continued support from Trump to secure his political position and that another confrontation with Iran could influence developments in Israel.

Carlson also alleged that senior American officials, including Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth and US Central Command chief Brad Cooper, were being encouraged to support renewed military operations.

He further mentioned Secretary of State Marco Rubio and CIA Director John Ratcliffe in his claims about the administration’s approach towards Iran.

These assertions about internal US government discussions have not been independently established.

Diplomatic option remains under discussion

Carlson’s warning comes at a time when diplomatic efforts to reduce tensions between Washington and Tehran remain ongoing.

He claimed that Vice President JD Vance and US special envoy Steve Witkoff were favouring negotiations rather than another major military campaign.

According to Carlson, both officials believe an agreement with Iran remains possible, although reaching a settlement would require difficult negotiations.

Recent statements from the Trump administration have also indicated that diplomacy has not been completely ruled out.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has said Trump has not made a final decision on fresh military strikes and that Washington remains open to a diplomatic solution.

Iranian officials have likewise expressed willingness to pursue diplomacy while warning that any renewed military attack would provoke a response.

Warning over consequences of nuclear escalation

Carlson also warned that using nuclear weapons against Iran could have consequences extending far beyond the immediate battlefield.

He argued that a nuclear explosion near the Persian Gulf could create serious environmental and humanitarian risks, particularly for countries dependent on the region’s water resources and energy infrastructure.

He further suggested that an American nuclear strike could encourage other nuclear-armed countries to reconsider their military policies, potentially increasing the danger of a wider international confrontation.

His warnings included possible consequences for relations involving Russia, Ukraine, Pakistan, India and North Korea.

However, his prediction of an inevitable global nuclear conflict represents his assessment rather than an established military or diplomatic outcome.

November 7 date raises further questions

Carlson suggested that Trump could make a decision regarding possible military action by November 7, although he did not disclose verifiable details about the alleged decision-making process.

The date has drawn attention because renewed military threats have coincided with diplomatic discussions and political developments in both the United States and Israel.

For now, there has been no publicly confirmed decision by the Trump administration to use nuclear weapons against Iran.

The competing statements from American officials, Iranian representatives and regional political figures highlight the uncertainty surrounding the future of the conflict.

With diplomatic contacts continuing and military warnings remaining prominent, international attention is focused on whether Washington and Tehran can reach an agreement or whether tensions will escalate further.
