LAHORE: The Lahore Arts Council (Alhamra) continues to uphold its esteemed legacy of welcoming international artists, further strengthening cultural diplomacy through creative exchange. Adding a distinguished new chapter to this tradition, the world-renowned Eve Klesse Quartet from Germany delivered an exceptional classical jazz performance at Alhamra, turning the cool November evening into a warm, memorable celebration of global artistry. The event was held in close collaboration with the Goethe-Institut, marking yet another milestone in Pakistan–Germany cultural relations.
Alhamra’s administration extended a gracious welcome to the visiting artists and expressed deep appreciation for choosing Lahore as the stage for their musical voyage. The Council noted that the ensemble’s presence reflects the trust and recognition Alhamra enjoys as a leading cultural institution, offering audiences the rare opportunity to experience jazz of an international calibre.
Chairman Alhamra, Razi Ahmed, stated that Alhamra remains devoted to presenting programs that introduce Lahore’s residents to the vibrant colours of world culture. He emphasized that hosting German artists not only enriches the city’s artistic landscape but also reinforces Alhamra’s commitment to fostering strong international connections.
Executive Director Alhamra, Mahboob Alam, remarked that witnessing globally celebrated musicians perform for the spirited people of Lahore was a moment of genuine pride. He added that such engagements strengthen the city’s cultural identity and reaffirm Lahore’s status as a welcoming hub for international creative talent. He highlighted that cultural exchanges between Pakistan and Germany play a meaningful role in deepening artistic understanding and mutual respect.
