LAHORE: In line with the vision of Punjab Chief Minister, DIG Investigation Lahore Syed Zeeshan Raza organized an open court (Khuli Katchery) in the jurisdiction of Police Station North Cantt to address public grievances and strengthen community-police engagement.
The event witnessed active participation of SP Investigation Cantt Bushra Nisar, DSP Investigations, Incharge Investigations, Investigating Officers, and a large number of citizens.
During the Khuli Katchery, citizens directly informed DIG Investigation about their complaints, particularly regarding delays and issues in police investigations. Listening attentively, DIG Zeeshan Raza issued on-the-spot directives for the resolution of several cases.
In a strong message of accountability, the DIG issued show-cause notices to investigating officers for poor performance and warned that compromise on merit will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
He emphasized the importance of resolving cases strictly on merit and instructed officers to address public complaints swiftly. “Protecting the life and property of citizens is the top priority of the Investigation Police,” DIG Raza asserted.
He added that the purpose of the Khuli Katchery is to bridge the gap between the police and the public and to ensure transparent and efficient service delivery. “Peace and law and order can only be ensured through timely justice,” he said.
DIG Zeeshan Raza also directed officers to treat visiting citizens with courtesy and work diligently to improve performance. “My office doors are always open for the public to ensure their concerns are heard and addressed promptly,” he concluded.
This initiative reflects the Punjab government’s commitment to citizen-centric policing and accountability within law enforcement.
