The decision was made during a meeting of the PRA’s Regularization Committee, which reviewed the employment status of staff working on contract since the Authority’s establishment in 2015. The committee unanimously approved the regularization of the 49 employees after careful evaluation.
However, the cases of Director IT Salman Zafar and three other IT officials were deferred. According to sources, the Regularization Committee did not take up Salman Zafar’s case due to the pending scrutiny report from a committee led by Ayesha Ranjha, which was constituted to examine the legality of his appointment.Additionally, the names of three Programming Officers from the IT department, initially included in the regularization agenda, were reportedly removed at the last moment. These cases are expected to be reconsidered in the next meeting of the committee.
