LAHORE: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in Faisalabad has apprehended three Customs officials and an accomplice for allegedly extorting money from a passenger at Faisalabad International Airport.

According to an FIA spokesperson, the case (FIR No. 102/2025) was lodged following a complaint by Mahwish Abbas, a resident of Jhang Sadar. The complainant claimed that upon arriving at Faisalabad Airport on February 1, 2024, Customs officials subjected her to harassment and coerced her into paying Rs400,000 for carrying two iPhone 15 devices.
The individuals taken into custody include Inspector Hassan Jalil, Inspector Talha Mumtaz, Sepoy Noman Elahi, and an accomplice, Muhammad Haseeb.
The suspects have been booked under Section 161 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) and Section 5(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act (PCA).
FIA has launched a thorough investigation into the matter and has urged the public to report any instances of corruption or misconduct involving government officials.
