LAHORE: The Punjab PMS Association Elections concluded on Sunday, with the Unity, Progress, and Welfare Group securing a decisive victory. Imran Shams was elected as President, while Malik Rashid Nemat won the position of General Secretary. Other elected members include Muhammad Sajid Bashir as Senior Vice President, Adnan Bashir as Secretary Implementation, Muhammad Jamil as Finance Secretary, Rao Waheed Jan as Secretary Information, and Zafar Iqbal Jattal as Secretary Legal.

The elections were held across five districts—Lahore, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Multan, and Bahawalpur, with a total of 1,024 registered voters. According to the final results, Imran Shams secured 353 votes, defeating Qamar-ul-Zaman Qaisrani, who received 270 votes. Shams won 175 votes from Lahore, 12 from Bahawalpur, 26 from Multan, 16 from Rawalpindi, and 16 from Faisalabad, while Qaisrani secured 175 votes from Lahore, 20 from Bahawalpur, 40 from Multan, 25 from Rawalpindi, and 10 from Faisalabad.
The opposing panel, led by Qamar-ul-Zaman Qaisrani, included Muhammad Arshad Gopang as Senior Vice President, Kashif Manzoor as General Secretary, Adil Umar as Secretary Coordination, Hafiz Kaleem Yousaf as Secretary Information, Muhammad Irfan as Finance Secretary, Anam Akram as Joint Secretary, and Ahmed Iqbal as Secretary Legal.
The elections were overseen by Chief Election Commissioner Farooq Sadiq, ensuring a fair and transparent voting process.
Victory Speech and Future Commitments
Following their win, newly elected President Imran Shams and General Secretary Malik Rashid Nemat expressed gratitude to the voters, emphasizing that their victory was a testament to the trust and confidence of PMS officers.
“We presented a manifesto that directly addressed the concerns of PMS officers, which resonated with the voters,” said Imran Shams.
With a clear mandate from the PMS community, the Unity, Progress, and Welfare Group now faces the challenge of delivering on its promises, ensuring that the newly elected leadership translates its manifesto into meaningful policy reforms.
