LAHORE– President of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry Ali Hussam Asghar, Senior Vice President Sardar Usman Ghani and Vice President Chaudhry Khadim Hussain have warmly congratulated Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz on receiving international recognition for the ‘Apni Chat, Apna Ghar’ project, terming it a proud achievement for Punjab and Pakistan.

The LCCI leadership said the international award was a significant recognition of Punjab’s people-focused development initiatives and a source of pride for the entire nation. They said such global recognition not only highlights the province’s development efforts but also raises Pakistan’s image on the international level.
The LCCI office-bearers said that the international recognition for the ‘Apni Chat, Apna Ghar’ project was a remarkable achievement and reflected the importance of initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life of the people. He congratulated Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and her team for bringing this distinction to Punjab.
They said successful people-centric projects could contribute to inclusive development, social well-being and economic empowerment, while also creating opportunities for related sectors of the economy.
Ali Hussam Asghar, Sardar Usman Ghani and Chaudhry Khadim Hussain said the international award was a matter of pride for Punjab and Pakistan. He appreciated the efforts behind the initiative and said recognition at the international level demonstrated that well-designed development projects could create a positive impact and attract global attention.
Meanwhile, addressing a delegation of the Plastic Manufacturing Traders Association at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry, LCCI President Mr. Ali Hussam Asghar expressed concern over the difficulties being faced by plastic manufacturers and traders due to actions by the Environment Department and appealed to Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz to kindly take notice of the situation and ensure that the sector is provided with a fair and conducive regulatory environment.
LCCI Vice President Chaudhry Khadim Hussain also spoke on the occasion while Senior Vice President Sardar Usman Ghani, former President Sheikh Muhammad Asif, Executive Committee Member Ali Raza and head of the delegation Malik Munawar also spoke on the occasion.
The delegation apprised the LCCI leadership of the difficulties being faced by plastic manufacturers and traders, saying that staff of the Environment Department was causing inconvenience to members of the sector. The delegation maintained that the plastic manufacturing sector was not contributing to pollution but was also playing a role in the collection, recycling and management of plastic waste.
LCCI President Ali Hussam Asghar said that all the measures must be taken through consultation with the LCCI and stakeholders and in a manner that does not create unnecessary difficulties for legitimate businesses.
He said that the concerns raised by the plastic manufacturing community deserved due consideration and expressed the hope that Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz would kindly look into the matter. He said that better coordination between the Environment Department and representatives of the sector could help resolve the issue in a constructive manner.
Vice President Mr. Chaudhry Khadim Hussain said that the concerns of the plastic manufacturing sector should be addressed through dialogue and mutual understanding.
Former LCCI President Mr. Sheikh Muhammad Asif also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the importance of resolving the sector’s concerns through consultation and constructive engagement.
