LAHORE: Vision Alliance leaders Ali Hussam Asghar and Sheikh Muhammad Ibrahim took centre stage at a major election gathering at Sundar Industrial Estate, where business leaders expressed support for the alliance ahead of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) elections.
The luncheon, hosted by Dr Hussain Shahzad of Bariq Pharma in honour of Vision Alliance and its Corporate Class candidates, brought together prominent businessmen as campaigning intensifies for the Corporate and Associate Class polls scheduled for Sept. 23 and 24.
Ali Hussam Asghar, Vision Alliance’s presidential candidate for the LCCI, made a strong appeal to Corporate Class voters to back the alliance on Sept. 23, pledging an active and result-oriented approach towards the problems confronting Lahore’s industry and trade.
“We will work day and night for the improvement of industry, business, imports and exports,” Asghar told participants.
He said Vision Alliance wanted to transform the Lahore Chamber into a stronger platform for business advocacy and ensure that issues facing manufacturers, exporters, importers and traders were effectively taken up with policymakers and relevant government institutions.
Asghar also appealed to Associate Class voters to support Vision Alliance on Sept. 24, saying the confidence of Lahore’s business community would enable the alliance to pursue its economic and institutional agenda at the chamber.
He stressed that strengthening industry and trade would remain at the heart of Vision Alliance’s programme, with greater emphasis on addressing practical problems faced by businesses.
Founders Group Chairman Sheikh Muhammad Ibrahim, another prominent figure at the gathering, strongly backed Vision Alliance and said its success would bring a new direction to the Lahore Chamber.
“Vision Alliance will bring a breath of fresh air to the Lahore Chamber for industry and trade,” Ibrahim said.
He maintained that the alliance could provide effective representation to the business community and strengthen the chamber’s role in advocating policies conducive to industrial and commercial growth.
The presence of Asghar and Ibrahim together at the Sundar Industrial Estate gathering also demonstrated the alliance’s effort to consolidate support among major industrial constituencies ahead of the closely watched chamber elections.
Speakers at the event expressed their backing for Vision Alliance and said Sundar Industrial Estate would support the alliance in the upcoming elections.
Dr Hussain Shahzad hosted the event, while Dr Samar Abbas, Bilal Ahmed Sheikh, Manzoor Hussain Jafri and Mardan Ali Zaidi were among the prominent participants. Vision Alliance’s Corporate Class candidates also attended the luncheon and interacted with voters.
The gathering comes as rival groups accelerate their election campaigns and intensify direct engagement with Lahore’s industrialists, traders and entrepreneurs.
With Corporate Class voting scheduled for Sept. 23 and Associate Class polling for Sept. 24, Vision Alliance is seeking to translate the support demonstrated at business gatherings into votes at the ballot box.
For Ali Hussam Asghar, the campaign is increasingly centred on presenting Vision Alliance as a platform for stronger business representation, while Sheikh Muhammad Ibrahim is using his position and experience within the Founders Group to rally support behind the alliance.
The Sundar Industrial Estate gathering therefore provided another significant campaign platform for the two leaders as the contest for influence over the Lahore Chamber enters its decisive phase.
