LAHORE— Stars and Strikers secured their places in the final of the National Women’s T20 Tournament after recording impressive victories in the last round of matches.

Stars defeated Invincibles in a thrilling chase, while Strikers thrashed Conquerors to register their eighth consecutive victory in the tournament.

The final will be played between Stars, captained by Tuba Hassan, and Strikers, led by Natalia Parvez, at Iqbal Stadium on Oct. 26.

Stars overcome Invincibles in final-over thriller

Stars chased down Invincibles’ 141-run target in 19.2 overs in a match played at Boharranwali Ground.

Invincibles posted 140 runs in their allotted 20 overs, thanks to an outstanding innings by Eman Fatima, who scored 85 off 63 balls, hitting 12 fours and three sixes.

Eman also shared a crucial 115-run partnership with Syeda Aroob Shah, providing Invincibles with a strong platform.

In reply, Stars held their nerve to reach the target, with Sadaf Shams and Iram Javed playing decisive roles.

Sadaf remained unbeaten on 59 off 52 balls, striking six fours and two sixes. Iram contributed 47 off 35 deliveries, including five fours and two sixes, to keep the chase on track.

Their contributions helped Stars complete the chase with four balls to spare and secure a place in the final.

Strikers maintain winning momentum

At Jauhar Club Ground, Strikers defeated Conquerors after posting 123 runs for the loss of wickets, setting a target of 124.

Najeeha Alvi top-scored with an unbeaten 63 off 52 balls, hitting eight fours and a six to anchor the innings.

Conquerors’ leg-spinner Ghulam Fatima delivered an impressive bowling performance, claiming four wickets for 14 runs in her four overs.

However, Conquerors struggled badly in their reply and were bowled out for just 63 in 14.1 overs.

Umm-e-Hani Sohail, Neelam Mushtaq, Tania Saeed and Rameen Shamim took two wickets each to dismantle the Conquerors batting line-up.

The comprehensive victory extended Strikers’ winning streak to eight matches and confirmed their place in the tournament final.

Final showdown awaits

With both teams securing their places in the title clash, attention will now turn to the Oct. 26 final at Iqbal Stadium.

Stars will look to build on their successful run chase, while Strikers will aim to extend their winning streak and cap their campaign with the trophy.
