ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Pakistan and seven other Islamic countries on Thursday jointly condemned the continuing Israeli military actions in the Gaza Strip, calling for an immediate end to hostilities, unrestricted humanitarian access and renewed international efforts to achieve a permanent ceasefire and a political settlement to the conflict.

The joint statement, issued by Pakistan’s Foreign Office, reflected the shared position of the foreign ministers of Pakistan, Egypt, Türkiye, Indonesia, Jordan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. The participating countries expressed deep concern over the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Gaza, saying the ongoing violence has resulted in widespread destruction, heavy civilian casualties and a worsening humanitarian crisis.

The ministers strongly condemned attacks on civilian infrastructure, including residential areas, healthcare facilities and humanitarian installations. They expressed grave concern over the continued loss of civilian lives, particularly women and children, stressing that such actions violate international humanitarian law and internationally accepted legal obligations governing armed conflicts.

The statement said the continuation of military operations has intensified the suffering of millions of Palestinians already facing severe shortages of food, medicine, fuel and other essential supplies. The foreign ministers emphasized that civilians must never become targets during armed conflicts and that all parties are required to respect the principles of international humanitarian law.

The eight countries underlined that hospitals, medical personnel, humanitarian workers and aid convoys must receive full protection. They stressed that uninterrupted delivery of humanitarian assistance into Gaza remains an international legal obligation and should not be delayed or restricted under any circumstances.

Calling attention to the worsening humanitarian conditions, the ministers urged the international community to ensure the immediate and unhindered flow of relief supplies across Gaza. They said humanitarian organizations must be allowed to operate safely so that life-saving assistance can reach affected civilians without obstacles.

The joint declaration also urged the United Nations Security Council and other international institutions to take effective and practical measures to ensure compliance with international law. The ministers called for accountability for violations committed during the conflict and emphasized that protecting civilians should remain the foremost priority of the global community.

The participating countries reiterated their support for diplomatic efforts aimed at ending the conflict through dialogue rather than military confrontation. They stressed that sustainable peace cannot be achieved through violence and requires meaningful political engagement involving all relevant stakeholders.

According to the statement, the ministers reaffirmed that implementation of international resolutions and respect for legal commitments remain essential for restoring stability in the region. They said all sides should fulfill their obligations under international law while avoiding actions that further escalate tensions.

The foreign ministers also renewed support for the internationally recognized two-state solution as the only viable path toward lasting peace in the Middle East. They reaffirmed their backing for the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state based on the pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

They noted that achieving a comprehensive political settlement would help address the root causes of the conflict and create conditions for long-term regional stability. The statement emphasized that dialogue, diplomacy and adherence to international law remain the most effective means of resolving the decades-long dispute.

Pakistan and the seven participating countries pledged to continue coordinating diplomatic efforts on international forums to highlight the humanitarian situation in Gaza and encourage broader international engagement. They stressed that the global community has a collective responsibility to protect civilians, facilitate humanitarian assistance and support initiatives aimed at achieving a just, comprehensive and lasting peace in the region.

The joint declaration concluded with a renewed appeal for an immediate ceasefire, protection of civilian lives and accelerated diplomatic efforts to prevent further loss of life while creating conditions for a durable political solution to the Palestinian issue.
