LONDON (Sports Desk) – England won the toss and chose to bat first in the decisive third One-Day International against India at Lord’s on Sunday, with the three-match series level at 1-1.
The hosts are aiming to secure their first ODI series victory over India since 2018 after recovering from defeat in the opening match at Edgbaston. England kept the series alive with a win in the second ODI at Cardiff, where Joe Root played a match-winning unbeaten innings of 99.
Both teams made changes to their playing XIs for the series finale.
England brought Josh Tongue into the side in place of Saqib Mahmood.
India, meanwhile, made three changes, recalling KL Rahul while Prince Yadav and Arshdeep Singh also returned to the lineup. Jasprit Bumrah, Washington Sundar and Shivam Dube were left out for the deciding encounter.
The final match at the historic Lord’s Cricket Ground is expected to determine the winner of an evenly contested series between two of international cricket’s leading sides.
