KARACHI (Web Desk) – Pakistani television host and producer Nida Yasir has expressed strong confidence in her daughter’s ability to make one of life’s most important decisions — choosing a life partner.
Speaking during her morning show, Nida shared her perspective on modern parenting and marriage, stressing that children should be raised with the confidence and wisdom needed to make responsible choices for their future.
The discussion began when fellow guest Ghazal Siddiqui asked how Nida would react if her daughter introduced someone she wanted to marry. In response, the veteran television personality said that parents who invest in their children’s upbringing should also learn to trust their judgment when the time comes.
Nida reflected on her own experience, noting that her parents had confidence in her decisions and allowed her the freedom to make important choices. She believes that the same trust should be extended to the next generation.
According to Nida, the ideal situation would be for her daughter to choose a partner whose character and values naturally earn the family’s approval. She explained that while parents may have concerns and expectations, a daughter’s happiness and comfort should remain a key consideration.
The television host also acknowledged that fathers and mothers may approach such matters differently. She remarked that her husband might evaluate additional factors before giving his approval, but as a mother, she would place significant importance on her daughter’s wishes and feelings.
Highlighting her parenting philosophy, Nida said she has always encouraged her daughter to become independent, self-assured, and aware of the realities of life. She believes these qualities are essential for making informed decisions, particularly when it comes to relationships and marriage.
Expressing optimism about her daughter’s future, Nida said she is confident that the values and guidance provided throughout her upbringing will help her make the right choice when selecting a life partner.
Her remarks resonated with many viewers, reflecting a growing acceptance among parents of giving children greater autonomy in personal decisions while maintaining family involvement and support.
