MUMBAI (Web Desk) – Mumbai Police have widened their investigation into a firing incident involving Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff after discovering that suspects allegedly conducted reconnaissance of actor Ranbir Kapoor’s residence in the Bandra area, according to Indian media reports.

Investigators are examining whether other prominent Bollywood personalities were potential targets and are probing a suspected weapons procurement network allegedly linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

According to reports, police informed a court that the attack on Shroff was allegedly carried out at the direction of Anil Pandit, a suspected associate of the gang. Eight people have reportedly been arrested in connection with the case.

Police sources said the suspects had initially considered targeting actor Salman Khan and allegedly surveyed his residence. However, they reportedly abandoned the plan after noticing police personnel deployed outside the property.

Investigators are also examining whether information shared on social media helped the suspects monitor Shroff’s movements. According to police, fan posts allegedly indicated that the actor regularly visited a football ground in Mumbai’s Juhu area on Sundays, potentially providing information about his routine.

Meanwhile, three key suspects — Rehan, alias Sikka; Ritik Kurmi, alias Roshan; and Phool Singh — were brought from Kota, Rajasthan, to Mumbai for court proceedings. A court reportedly remanded them in police custody until October 31.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Raj Tilak Roshan said five additional people had been detained in Haryana and Uttar Pradesh in connection with the alleged arms procurement and supply network.

According to investigators, two suspects travelled to Amritsar to obtain firearms, while two women allegedly transported the weapons to Mumbai by train and handed them over to the attackers. Another suspect allegedly provided local assistance and logistical support.

Police are continuing to question suspects, trace the alleged weapons supply chain and establish whether the reported reconnaissance activities were connected to a wider criminal operation.

The allegations remain under investigation, and the full extent of any potential threat to Bollywood personalities has yet to be established.
