LAHORE, April 12 —A road construction project in Lahore’s Daroghawala industrial area was officially inaugurated following sustained efforts by local industry representatives and political figures.

The initiative was made possible through continuous coordination by Daroghawala Industry Owners Association Chairman and Lahore Chamber executive member Shaban Akhtar, along with special efforts by former Union Council chairman Hafiz Akram Gujjar. The project also received support from Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, Federal Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik, and funding from MPA Haji Malik Waheed.
The inauguration ceremony, held at Al-Siraj Park on Ajmal Hotel Road and adjoining streets, was led by MPA Malik Waheed, Hafiz Akram Gujjar, Shaban Akhtar, and Association President Rameez Diwan, who formally opened the project by cutting a ribbon.
A large number of residents and stakeholders attended the event, warmly استقبال welcoming Malik Waheed and showering flower petals to mark the occasion.

Officials noted that this marks the first time the current leadership of the Daroghawala association has successfully aligned elected representatives to prioritize development in the industrial area. Malik Waheed and Hafiz Akram Gujjar also visited multiple streets where construction work has commenced.
The development challenges the perception that industrial areas receive limited government funding due to low voter populations. Malik Waheed assured stakeholders that all possible facilities would be provided to support industrial growth.
Several association members and office-bearers, including Shahzad Saleem, Haji Nisar Ahmed, Muhammad Hafeez, Engineer Arsalan, Nasir Khan, Munir Hussain, Mudassar Ghafoor, Shahid Mahmood, Nadeem Shahid, Mubashir Saleem, and others, were also present at the event.
