LAHORE, April 9 — Capital City Police Officer Bilal Siddique Kamyana has ordered a comprehensive citywide crackdown on crime, drug peddling, kite flying, and illegal residency, while directing enhanced security measures across Lahore.

Chairing a series of high-level meetings to review the performance, crime situation, and security arrangements of Iqbal Town, Saddar, Model Town, and Cantonment divisions, the CCPO emphasized coordinated and intelligence-based operations to strengthen law and order.
A detailed assessment of divisional performance and crime control strategies was conducted. The CCPO directed officers to intensify action against drug peddlers, stressing the need to dismantle supply chains through coordinated efforts.
He also ordered strict action against proclaimed offenders, calling for their immediate arrest and timely submission of challans in courts to ensure swift legal proceedings.
Highlighting security concerns, Kamyana directed foolproof arrangements at sensitive installations, including foreign consulates, and ordered the installation and effective operationalization of security barriers in housing societies. He further instructed deployment of security guards in identified crime hotspots in coordination with housing administrations.
The CCPO reiterated a zero-tolerance policy against kite flying, ordering indiscriminate action to enforce the ban. He also directed authorities to devise an effective strategy to curb rising incidents of motorcycle theft and burglary.
In addition, he instructed the relevant departments to identify and take legal action against illegally residing Afghan nationals in accordance with the law.
He emphasized the continuation of intelligence-based combing operations against criminal elements across the city without interruption.
Underscoring the importance of public service, the CCPO called for improved police culture, directing officers to adopt a professional and courteous attitude toward citizens in line with the vision of the provincial leadership.
During one of the meetings, Fateha was also offered for the late parents of SHO Barki, Muhammad Imran Nawaz.
Senior officers including DIG (Admin) Imran Kishwar, DIG (Investigation) Zeeshan Raza, SSP (Operations) Tauqeer Muhammad Naeem, along with SPs, ASPs, circle officers, SHOs and investigation in-charges from all concerned divisions attended the sessions.
