LAHORE: Inspector General of Police Punjab, Abdul Kareem, has taken strict notice of the incident in the Kahna area where the In-charge of Lakhoki Police Post chained a citizen.

On the orders of the IG Punjab, ASP Operations Kahna, Agha Faseeh Rehman, has been immediately transferred and closed to the Central Police Office, while SHO Police Station Kahna, Asad Abbas, has been suspended. Likewise, on the directions of the IG Punjab, a case has been registered at Police Station Kahna against Lakhoki Police Post In-charge Adnan Virk and Moharrar Muhammad Azhar.
The IG Punjab clearly stated that mistreatment of citizens, inhumane behavior, and abuse of authority will not be tolerated under any circumstances. He emphasized that indiscriminate action will be taken under the zero tolerance policy against those violating the law within Punjab Police.
The IG Punjab further said that ensuring the protection of citizens’ lives and property, along with safeguarding their dignity and honor, is the top priority of Punjab Police, and negligence at any level in this regard will not be tolerated at all.
