On economic revival, Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan said building the confidence of the business community is an urgent national priority. He stated that the Punjab government is taking concrete steps to create a stable and business-friendly environment, adding that with supportive policies and institutional backing, the private sector can place the national economy on a sustainable growth path.
The Speaker reiterated Pakistan’s principled opposition to regional or global hegemony, stressing that diplomacy, dialogue and trade — rather than conflict — remain the most viable tools for peace and development. He also said sports should not be politicized and that using sporting platforms for score-settling is unacceptable.
Commenting on recent achievements, he described Pakistan’s historic victory against Australia as a source of national pride, crediting the cricket team’s success to discipline, professionalism, perseverance and dignity.

However, he emphasized that the protection of human life remains paramount. He expressed concern over the use of hazardous kite strings and said the government is making comprehensive efforts to ensure the festival is celebrated safely and responsibly.
He said awareness campaigns, including advertisements and public outreach initiatives, are underway to reinforce that Basant should be observed strictly as a cultural celebration. He added that participants and organizers must ensure no harm comes to individuals, public infrastructure or property, and called for keeping the festival free from hooliganism, recklessness and unlawful activity.
In conclusion, the Speaker reaffirmed that the Punjab Assembly remains committed to addressing public concerns, maintaining law and order, and strengthening national unity and social cohesion.
