LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif said in her message on International Day for the Promotion of Tolerance that promoting tolerance through mutual understanding between people is need of the hour.

She added that tolerance is more important In this era of growing extremism and violent conflicts. She highlighted that ending hatred, intolerance and incompatibility is possible only with love, tolerance and agreement.
Chief Minister Punjab urged upon citizens to strive for making this world a better place for everyone to live with peace. She said,”Let us adopt patience and tolerance for a better coexistence.” She noted that the world is already embroiled in numerous problems due to intolerance. She underscored that we have to walk on the path of tolerance to keep our society peaceful.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif flagged that Holy Prophet (PBUH)’s life is the best example of patience and tolerance, as he (PBUH) showed tolerance even to his severest enemies. She added that Islam teaches us to live peacefully, and be tolerant to others, because negative attitudes lead not only family but the society as well to destruction. She noted,”In order to combat attitudes of intolerance in society, we must adopt an attitude of patience, tolerance, positive thinking and best practices with others. She emphasised that every section of society should play its full role in fostering the trend of tolerance. She asserted,”Today, we reaffirm our resolve to play our full role in promoting tolerance.”
